I Have Two Words For You
Look inside, look inside your tiny mind
and look a bit harder
cause we’re so uninspired
so sick and tired
of all the hatred you harbor
so you say it’s not okay to be gay
well I think you’re just evil
you’re just some racist who can’t tie my laces
you’re point of view is medieval
Fuck you, fuck you very very much
cause we hate what you do
and we hate your whole crew
so please don’t stay in touch
fuck you, fuck you very very much
cause your words don’t translate
and it’s getting quite late
so please don’t stay in touch
do you get, do you get a little kick out of being small-minded?
you want to be like your father
it’s approval you’re after
well that’s not how you’ll find it
do you, do you really enjoy living a life that’s so hateful
cause there’s a hole where your soul should be
you’re losing control of it
and it’s really distasteful
Fuck you, fuck you very very much
cause we hate what you do
and we hate your whole crew
so please don’t stay in touch
Fuck you, fuck you very very much
cause your words don’t translate
and it’s getting quite late
so please don’t stay in touch
You say, you think we need to go to war
Well you're already in one.
Cause it's people like you that need to get sued
No one wants your opinion
Fuck you, fuck you very very much
cause we hate what you do
and we hate your whole crew
so please don’t stay in touch
Fuck you, fuck you very very much
cause your words don’t translate
and it’s getting quite late
so please don’t stay in touch

Don't Mess With Dallas
Most people outside of Texas seem to view Dallasites as confederate-flag-loving, gun-toting, good ol' boy idiot carbon copies of our current world leader, but that simply isn't so. Sure, some of those people exist (most of them in the suburbs, outside of the county line, thank God). But Dallas county went DEMOCRATIC in the primary, and is a battleground county right now.
As much as I wanted to attend the anti-Palin protest (she spoke downtown at the Fairmont) held in Dallas this past week, my schedule would not allow it. Thankfully, 300 people showed up to protest this folksy, backward, winky-dinky, secessionist, anti-feminist candidate, who does NOT represent the ideals, morals, and values of any modern women. She is basically just another Bush in a skirt, but scarily in some respects is worse than Bush, and is of course, just a heartbeat away from the presidency if McCain is elected.

ONLY THE BEST FREECYCLE OFFER EVER
"Left over from ebay auctions: Vintage Unicorn collection - Beautiful
unicorn collection from the 80's. These were lovingly cared for and
are in great condition. There is a brass bell, a brass statue that
plays music and rotates, a porcelain unicorn / teddy bear that also
plays music and rotates (would make a GREAT baby gift!!) Also a night
light and a snow globe. The finish on the base of the night light is
slightly worn and some of the liquid has evaporated in the snow globe.
Otherwise it's a beautfiul collection."

Letter from Carrollton

Sandra Laird, director of animal care, Operation Kindness Animal Shelter, CarrolltonAll we have to do to get our blood pressure up these days is to look at the prices we are paying at the pump. This is bad enough, but we are also paying higher prices for just about anything we buy that is trucked in. The ones who might be paying the ultimate price are the dogs and cats being turned in at our local shelters and humane societies.
People are losing their homes, having to move in with other family members and the pets that were once a part of their families are now being surrendered. We are just beginning kitten season, and more puppies are born all the time. People are not coming to the shelters to adopt these animals. When you don't know how you are going to pay to fill up your tank, you are not likely to take on the expense of a new pet.
You cannot imagine how I feel when I tell the lady who is bringing in her cat or a fellow humane officer, begging us to take some of the animals whose time is up, that we cannot accept any more animals because we are just too full. I agonize for the animal service officer whom I just said "no" to, as she or he looks for the last time into the beautiful eyes of that puppy or kitten that they are about to give back to God.
It might be wise for the Dallas City Council to adopt the proposed new animal ordinances that are about to go before them.

i am sitting in the morning at the diner on the corner
I've been trying to convince my mom to go with me but somehow every time I suggest it the conversation goes a little something like this:
mom: "What sounds good?"
me: "Let's go to Spiral Diner!"
mom: "But I'm hungry. You know, really hungry. I need protein."
me: "They have a huge menu, with lots of protein options - not just tofu."
mom: "But I need meat."
me: "Mom, protein is protein."
mom: (getting testy and annoyed) "You know what I mean."
me thinking: No, no I don't know what you mean. What you mean is that you don't want to try anything new and anything outside of a steakhouse freaks you out.
Well, Spiral Diner is earning more and more non-vegetarian, non-vegan fans. I keep telling her that their "ate layer burrito" is to die for, but she still refuses to go with me, citing "must eat animal protein" as the excuse.
For my final argument, ladies and gentlemen of the jury, I would like to quote a comment left on this GuideLive article:

"My daughter and I went last week for lunch. She's vegetarian and I raise cattle and definitely love meat. The menu was amazing. She had the wrap with hummus, roasted sweet potatoes, spinach, and other veggies and it was delicious. I had the "traditional" burger (patty was made of brown rice, nuts and ground veggies). If it had been a blind tasting test, I would have never believed I wasn't eating something beefy and with real life mayo and fixings! The place was very busy and most all were men--overalls, suits, etc. Location is very easy to get to and we will be regulars!"I rest my case.
